Are you a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills and a passion for supporting a mission-driven organization? First Tee - Lowcountry is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is critical to our operations, supporting the Executive Director, Program Director, and Development Specialist in fulfilling our mission to empower youth through character education and life skills development.
Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant will provide essential support to ensure smooth operations of the organization. Core responsibilities include:
•Database Management:
oEnter and maintain accurate records in donor database (ELEO) and participant database (Salesforce).
oGenerate reports and assist with database optimization.
•Communication:
oPrepare and edit various forms of correspondence, including memos, letters, and reports.
oCollaborate with staff, board members, and committees on projects and events.
oSocial Media Management, Update our website as needed.
•Administrative Tasks:
oAnswer phones, greet visitors, and manage mail distribution.
oSchedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and maintain organizational calendars.
oCreate and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
oAssist with Bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks
•Event & Grant Support:
oAssist in planning and executing activities and events.
oSupport grant applications and reporting processes.
•Technical Proficiency:
oUse tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data analysis.
oLeverage strong writing and grammar skills for communication and documentation.
•Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the organization's success.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with Salesforce and ELEO databases and QuickBooks accounting software is preferred but not required (training provided).
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
•Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work collaboratively with staff, board members, and volunteers.

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to perform protective service work and enforce laws for the Town of Bluffton (Town). Duties include; enforcing laws; investigating criminal activity; ensuring safety of public; maintaining records and files;

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Attends and successfully completes the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (SCCJA).
Completes the field training officer program which consists of:
Operates patrol vehicle or walks to observe for violations of traffic laws, suspicious activities or persons, and disturbances of law and order; operates specialized police equipment; and maintains a visible police presence
throughout the community.
Interviews victims and witnesses; obtains additional information regarding crimes, accidents, violations, etc.
Investigates crimes; collects evidence; and conducts searches.
Responds to radio dispatches; answers calls and complaints; serves warrants, summons, etc.; and completes arrest records.
Participates in illegal drug enforcement operations; conducts surveillance.
Makes arrests; testifies in Court; and prepares incident and various special reports.
Conducts traffic stops; enforces traffic laws; investigates accidents; issues traffic citations; directs traffic; and provides first responder medical assistance.
Provides police escorts; directs traffic; and performs residential and commercial security checks.
Participates in a variety of in-service and special training programs.
Responds to and investigates domestic disputes; assists other law enforcement agencies when assigned.
Reports dangers of defective streets, sidewalks, traffic lights, or other hazardous conditions.
May be assigned to collateral duty assignments such as school resource officer, investigations, etc.; works on assigned shifts.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; and no experience required but some law enforcement experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses or Certifications:

Valid South Carolina driver’s license. Possess a South Carolina Criminal Justice Training Academy (SCCJA) certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of police methods, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Police Department.
Knowledge of the geography of the Town and location of important buildings.
Skill in using firearms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

In addition, positions in this classification typically require balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping,

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are regularly performed outdoors under various weather conditions with: exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and bloodborne pathogens; exposure to toxic substances, electrical hazards, and explosives; exposure to vibrations and loud noises (such as traffic); and occasionally working in cramped or high places. Work requires dealing with potentially hostile or violent individuals, performing strenuous tasks, or potentially wearing protective gear such as respirators. Duties are also performed in a moderately noisy business office with copy machines, phones, and printers along with some light foot traffic. This job requires workings various shifts as scheduled.

Bluffton Self Help is seeking a compassionate Bilingual Client Advocate to join our team and support neighbors on their journey from vulnerability to self-sufficiency. Working both independently and collaboratively, the Client Advocate builds trusting relationships with clients and provides emotional support, practical guidance, and resource navigation to help them achieve personal and financial stability. Reporting to the Senior Client Advocate, this role plays a key part in delivering direct services and referrals using BSH’s internal programs and external partner resources.

Key Responsibilities:

-Reflect the Bluffton Self Help’s mission and values in a professional style and personal actions.
-Maintain a thorough understanding of Bluffton Self Help programs and services, as well as the community resources available to our neighbors in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.
-Collaboratively working with Senior Client Advocate and case management team to implement action plans to improve our advocacy program and meet the organization’s strategic goals, while ensuring services are delivered consistently and smoothly.
-Use a strategic and solutions-focused approach to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and support clients in overcoming barriers.
-Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients through empathetic, culturally sensitive engagement.
-Facilitate clear and effective communication among clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure a positive and seamless experience.
-Maintain and develop proficiency in utilizing BSH’s case management system, Caseworthy, and maintain and record client notes, meetings, progress, and success stories in a timely manner. Track neighbors’ progress while evaluating additional needs.
-Assess the effectiveness of services provided for clients and advocate or assist in the development of new services as needed.
-Participate in staff meetings, outreach initiatives, trainings, and community events to represent and strengthen BSH’s advocacy efforts.

Qualifications:

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
Minimum five years of client-facing experience.
Degree in social work, human services, or related field.
