Experienced Restaurant Manager - Skillets Cafe & Grill, Hilton Head Island

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to providing exceptional service. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency within the restaurant, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Skillets Cafe & Grill, established 1993, is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Hilton Head Island, offering a variety of delicious comfort food, seafood, and southern specialties in a family-friendly atmosphere. We're known for our signature breakfast dishes, endless salad bar, and extensive kids' menu, all served with a focus on freshness and quality.

Responsibilities
Supervise daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service and adherence to quality standards, ensuring efficiency and profitability
Manage kitchen staff and front-of-house team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork.
Oversee inventory management and cost control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Implement and uphold food safety regulations and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health codes.
Utilize POS systems for order processing, sales tracking, and reporting.
Plan and coordinate special events.
Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and best practices in food service.
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues promptly
Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop seasonal menus and specials

Qualifications
Proven experience in the food industry, preferably in a management role within a restaurant setting.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
Familiarity with POS systems and their operational functions.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience
ServSafe Manager certification preferred

We're seeking an experienced Main Cook to join our kitchen team. You'll be responsible for prepping and cooking food, plating dishes according to our menu specifications, and leading our kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals to our guests.

Responsibilities
Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Estimate food supplies needed for menu items and weekly specials
Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality or service.
Set up and stock preparation stations and kitchen
Manage food preparation processes, ensuring recipe adherence and portion control.
Provide positive leadership and instruction to line cooks and prep cooks.
Requirements
Prior experience as a cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Skilled in using various kitchen equipment
Strong leadership abilities in a high-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities;
- Photography and automated image editing (after completion of a short training)
- Customer assistance and guidance and information
- Performing basic end-of-day duties
- Addressing and resolving of customer complaints in a professional manner
- Answering of customer emails
- Inventory tracking
- Customer payment processing using the shop's Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and assist them with their inquiries
- Conduct data entry and maintain accurate records of client interactions
- Analyze client needs and recommend appropriate products or services
- Utilize sales techniques to upsell and cross-sell products to clients
