City of Beaufort

The City of Beaufort Police Department is seeking to fill an open police officer position within the Department. Experienced certified police officers, civilian-military police officers, or former military police officers are preferred but not required. This police officer position performs patrol duties in assigned areas of the City, responds to calls for service, generates calls for service; enforces federal and state laws and city ordinances; performs traffic enforcement; conducts property checks, and participates in community-oriented policing activities.

Under frequent supervision, performs fire suppression activities on assigned shift, ensuring proper and prompt response to emergency situations in order to protect the lives and property of those in need of assistance. Participates in fire inspections, fire investigations, fire prevention and education programming. Maintains records and prepares reports as required. Responds to public calls for assistance with emergency medical situations, performs various life support functions as authorized and certified. Reports to Duty Battalion Chief via chain of command.

Under regular supervision, performs tasks involving drainage systems, maintenance projects, roadways and road aprons construction/re-construction, and maintenance to City of Beaufort easements and rights- of-ways (ROW’s). Public Works Associate I will report to the Street/Stormwater Supervisor.

Coordinates and performs skilled workflow and procedures for Human Resources with an emphasis on personnel actions, benefits administration, onboarding and exit interviews, Human Resource information System (HRIS), employee file management, applicant tracking, scheduling, and coordinating interviews. Provides a high level of exceptional customer service while representing the City of Beaufort. Work is performed under the direction of the Human Resources Director.
