Financial Aid Coordinator

Job Duties:

1.Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program, including collaborating with on-campus departments and off-campus community partners to identify and develop eligible FWS positions; collecting and maintaining position descriptions and required agreements; posting and updating FWS job opportunities on institutional platforms; processing employment and eligibility documentation; coordinating with Human Resources and Payroll regarding hiring, contract updates, and employment changes; developing and delivering training materials, orientation presentations, and handbooks for supervisors and student employees; assigning and monitoring FWS award codes; reconciling and monitoring FWS budgets and expenditures; maintaining accurate records and audit-ready documentation; and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, institutional policies, and program deadlines.

2.Provides exceptional service and financial aid advising through accurate and clear delivery of information related to Federal Title IV student financial aid, state aid, and other forms of private student financial aid. Assists with completion of the FAFSA; gathers, interprets, reviews, and analyzes documentation for eligibility and requests additional documentation for incomplete or inconsistent applications to perform accurate needs analysis and verification of files. Performs packaging and awarding functions. Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations applicable to the delivery of financial aid. Maintains files in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Conducts financial aid and scholarship information sessions. Ensures all student/parent information is safe-guarded according to general FERPA regulations, institutional policies, and with extended restrictions of Financial Aid policies and procedures.

3. Administers and coordinates the awarding and processing of all miscellaneous third-party scholarships, internal TCL Foundation scholarships, and Veterans and Military educational benefits, including but not limited to Chapters 33, 31, 35. And MYCAA. Collaborates with the Business Office to ensure accurate receipt, posting, reconciliation, and disbursement of third-party scholarship funding; works closely with the TCL Foundation Office and Business Office to coordinate the awarding, processing, and tracking of institutional foundation scholarships; and partners with the Military & Veterans Office to certify enrollment, process VA educational benefits, and ensure compliance with applicable federal and institutional regulations. Reviews and adjusts state, federal, institutional, and other financial aid awards as necessary to prevent over-awards and maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, VA, and institutional policies and procedures, including adjustments related to students receiving South Carolina Senior Citizen Tuition Waivers and TCL Employee Tuition Waivers. Maintains accurate records, monitors student eligibility, resolves discrepancies, performs account reviews and reconciliations as needed, and provides guidance and support to students regarding scholarship programs, tuition waivers, and veterans educational benefits.

4)Manages the identification and review components of the Return to Title IV (R2T4) process, including generating and reviewing R2T4 reports; identifying students who require official or unofficial withdrawal calculations; monitoring enrollment activity and withdrawal status changes; coordinating the timely referral of student records for R2T4 processing; maintaining accurate tracking and documentation records; and collaborating with the designated R2T4 processor to review completed calculations for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations and institutional policies.

5)Assists with monitoring and the evaluation of student financial aid satisfactory academic progress (SAP). Assists with adjudication of student appeals relating to academic progress including, but not limited to, tracking student appeals, tracking of documents and updates to SAP eligibility and communication. Processes end of term functions, checking academic plan completion and cancellation of aid as needed.

6) Assists with creation and maintenance of Dynamic Forms and the Financial Aid Electronic Scheduler. Also ensures proper functioning and maintenance of US Department of Education software and Ellucian software. Assists the Director of Financial Aid with Ellucian software update testing, troubleshoots software issues, and works with Ellucian to submit and work support tickets for issues with communication management, packaging, and awarding.

7)Assists with the maintenance of the Financial Aid webpages to ensure accurate and up-to-date information. Annually ensures Net Price Calculator and Shopping Sheet are updated. Assists in audits, program review, and reconciliation processes. Provides research assistance on financial aid regulations and provides recommendations regarding policy and compliance. Creates federal and state reports, as needed.

8)Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and financial aid experience. Equivalencies may be considered.

Salary:
$39,300.00 - $66,800.00 Annual
