Adjunct Chemistry Instructor

Job Functions:

Teaching Responsibilities

Deliver instruction in Chemistry through lectures, demonstrations, laboratory activities, and other applied learning experiences.
Facilitate effective classroom and/or laboratory learning environments that promote student engagement and success.
Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned with established course outcomes.
Assess student learning through assignments, laboratory reports, examinations, and other evaluation methods.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress in accordance with college policies.

Instructional Development

Recommend textbooks, laboratory supplies, and other instructional resources to support Chemistry courses.
Utilize instructional technologies and learning management systems to enhance teaching and learning.
Collaborate with faculty and academic support services to promote student achievement and retention.
Assist with course-related documentation and reports as needed for program review, planning, and accreditation.

Professional Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge of developments in Chemistry and related scientific fields.
Participate in relevant professional development activities as appropriate.
Follow college policies and procedures related to instruction, laboratory safety, and student support.
Represent the College professionally in interactions with students, colleagues, and community partners.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in Chemistry. Unofficial transcripts are required at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include prior college-level teaching experience and/or relevant professional experience in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
