Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority

Under limited supervision, manages the Engineering Department and is responsible for the planning, administration, and direction of all Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (BJWSA) activities related to engineering for water and sewer system improvements and connections. Assigns works and exercises general supervision and final authority over the work of the Engineering Department. Manages policy development and activities related to: Water & Sewer Master Plan, new design and related construction of Developer funded and BJWSA capital projects, and Development Policy and Procedure program

Under limited supervision, directly manages the related implementation, design, permitting, bidding, and construction activities of BJWSA Capital Improvement projects. This position coordinates activities to ensure projects of varying size, scope, and budget are designed to meet the needs of BJWSA, and are constructed on schedule, within budget, with minimal problems and in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, and standards.

Under limited supervision, is responsible for supervision of BJWSA’s Field Operations Preventive Maintenance Department. The department is responsible for canal and all other water and sewer right of way maintenance, sewer system cleaning, sewer and water asset inspection, and BJWSA’s valve exercising program. Provides guidance and supervision to subordinate staff members. Ensures jobs performed conform to BJWSA specifications and standards, state, federal and all other regulatory agency standards.

An entry-level position in the multi-skilled Field Operations workforce. Under frequent supervision, performs and assists with inspections and general maintenance on wastewater pump stations, which include the basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment at all wastewater pump stations.
