Facility Manager

Essential Functions
Building and Grounds
•Maintain building and grounds to exceed standard set by USDA, ABC, DHEC, DSS and all other regulatory agencies
•Maintain regular checks for necessary repairs and updates
•Maintain school grounds, walkways and areas adjacent to school facilities to be free of debris, identify hazardous situations and resolve concerns.
•Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of building does not deteriorate.
•Move and arrange furniture and equipment; prepare classrooms and other facilities for special events or meetings as assigned; set up and assemble chairs, tables, furniture and equipment; clean up furniture, equipment and debris following these events.
•Perform other cleaning duties as necessary between daily cleaning service visits.
•Follow manufacturer specifications in the use of all chemicals and power equipment.
•Ensure necessary and timely repairs as required.
•Schedule and oversee outside vendors doing maintenance on campus.
•Conduct weekly inventory and maintain records of supplies/equipment.
•Inspect buildings, reporting unsatisfactory or dangerous situations to the Executive Director, including but not limited to:
•Presence of animals, vermin or insects
•Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance
•Water leaks, and other maintenance needs
•All other health and safety hazards noticed

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

•Knowledge of various trades at the semi-skilled level required for the maintenance and minor repair of facilities and equipment
•Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in maintenance work
•Ability to maintain record-keeping/inventory details
•Flexible and able to multi-task; can work in a fast-moving environment
•Proven ability to navigate processes that drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness
•Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals, multitask, and prioritize
•Maintain a clean and organized workspace
•Coordinate, schedule, set priorities and make decisions
•Write legibly to record information
•Understand and follow oral and written instructions
•Takes personal pride in a job well done
•Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
•Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position including lifting, bending, climbing to various heights, standing for long periods of time and working both indoors and out

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED, at least 3 years’ experience in building maintenance and upkeep. Associate’s degree preferred.
